Goodnight, Baby

We love to sing to our Little Girl.. and when I get to put her to sleep, I have a special song I like to sing. You’ve probably heard it before. Here are the words.

Dream A Little Dream of Me

Stars shining bright above you;
night breezes seem to whisper, “I love you.”
Birds singing in the sycamore tree:
dream a little dream of me.

Say nighty-night and kiss me;
Just hold me tight and tell me you’ll miss me.
While I’m alone and blue as can be:
dream a little dream of me.

Stars fading but I linger on, dear,
Still craving your kiss.
I’m longing to linger till dawn, dear,
Just saying this:

Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you.
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you.
But in your dreams, whatever they be:
dream a little dream of me.

  1. I remember hearing Mama Cass sing this song so gently when I was a teenager. I am singing along to the words as I read.

    yeah! I love her version–it’s my favorite, and it’s the way I sing it when I sing to Baby 🙂
